Instruct, support and advise 20+ graduate and undergraduate students in the theory and application of soft goods creation and construction over the course of 10 weeks. Students will gain efficiency in the following:
Basic materials, content and constructions
Understand the characteristics of knit, woven and non-woven materials
Draft basic patterns
Prep files and operate a laser cutter
Use hot melts and different heat press tools
Back engineer a pattern/product
Operate general soft goods machinery

Research and identify on trend inspiration, silhouettes, trim, fabrics, and sketch and CAD designs to present the line and season’s intent to leadership members.
Utilize extensive knowledge of construction to create tech packs, generate specs. Communicate and collaborate with overseas contractors on new concepts, construction, and costing. Work with tech designers and production to ensure feasibility of designs and meet price points.
